1998年元旦、TBS系で放映された田中美佐子・二宮和也（現・嵐）主演のスペシャルドラマ。原作は、松本清張による同名の傑作ミステリー。映画『硫黄島からの手紙』で世界に通ずる演技力の高さを知らしめた二宮の初期主演作であり、撮影当時14歳だった彼が、早くも才能の萌芽を見せつけた作品。純朴な多吉少年のイメージのままに、坊主頭で臨んだ二宮の姿は清冽で初々しい。妖艶な女性に導かれ、少年から男へのステップを踏み出す多吉の表情は実になまめかしく、スリリング。
