| Various pens I'd like to get at some stage, in one place so I don't have to search my bookmarks! "Expensive" means "More than €50.00" (postage extra) - sometimes a lot more. Restricted to austere black and silver to keep the collection under control. | ||

Items on List: Expensive pens wish list

Notes: Lightweight Makrolon barrel, opposite of my usual heavy all-metal preference. Neil Gaiman speaks highly of this pen. Note: nibs tend to be broader than usual: for Medium, order Fine. Only $94 at pengallery.com

Notes: I like the inlaid lozenges on the barrel. $100 at richardspens.com and maybe a steel Itali-Fine nib, pre-shipping total $165. Only $68 from pengallery.com: buy nib separately.
Notes: Smaller than M1000. M800 has gold trim. NB the "rumour" this might be discontinued: no longer on cultpens. $340 / £175 at richardspens.com, $283 from pengallery.com, in black, black/blue and blue. Also at missing-pen.de for €298.

Notes: Solid black urushi resin. Clip available in polished or dull silver. This is a seriously austere pen. I like it a lot.

Notes: Go for the one with the maki-é painted goldfish; a cute thing to put inside such a plain pen.

Notes: $188 from pengallery.com. The smaller one ($103 from PG.com) includes a handsome dark red with gold, as shown. Nibs.com has the coloured version in full size

Notes: Might need a broad nib - Japanese nibs are one size down. Pengallery have this for $188

Notes: A smaller version of the Professional Gear. Broad nib equals medium Euro width. $103 from pengallery.com

Notes: Ultra-light, apparently: carbon, magnesium, titanium - an alternate to the Lamy 2000?

Notes: Also available in black with rhodium trim, which is my preferred colour scheme.

Notes: A real change from Black and Silver! See the Teal Pearl one, too. This price includes an 18ct gold nib; Peartreepens.com have it for $85 (steel nib)

Notes: Another break from the black-and-silver motif, but staying in monochrome. Problem is, the Scheherazade has been discontinued. eBay, maybe?

Notes: The Carina in Antica/sterling or Grey Mist/sterling, and the Nova in Black Pearl/sterling. Both also available in Classic Black/sterling.

Notes: A change from the usual black and silver, but this and the next one (grey) are extremely handsome, and if I can nab one I will.

Notes: A discontinued design, and very handsome; not black-and-silver (obviously) but well worth grabbing if it can be managed. (Now gone: something to keep an eye out for on eBay)

Notes: Also in black-and-silver for $396. NB that this pen can be fitted with a variety of different nibs. Prices from pengallery.com - $363 and $286 respectively.

Notes: Diamond Black for preference. This is the best price I've seen by almost $200! An expensive pen: does it write well, or just look good? And how does it compare to something like Aurora, Sailor or Bexley?

Notes: Some reviews suggest that old PFM-V is better made. Average in US: $271 / £138 / €175; pengallery.com manage $209 / £106 / €138.

Notes: Available at Pens4Less.com for $160 / £82 / €103, $145 at pengallery.com or (currently "On Sale" as of 9/May/08) at thebestthings.com for $82 -do they ship ex-US?

Notes: Silver clip rather than gold completely changes the look of the pen. Price also very good, $220 = £112. richardspens.com is $205, pengallery.com is $199, black, blue and red with gold clip
