Excellent, comfortable clothing, custom made at ridiculously low prices.: This is a store which focuses most on women's apparel and accessories from India. It sells kurti, caftans, and salwar kameezes. A kurti is a tunic top, which can be either long or short (usually, the buyer tells eShakti how long to make it. "Kurti" is, I've been told, the source of our word "shirt". A salwar kameez is a complete outfit, consisting of a tunic (the kameez — the word is the source for our word chemise), a salwar, which is only one form of pants they sell, and a dupatta (a large shawl which is coordinated with the tunic and pants. If the kameez fabric is very light, they will also make and sell you an undertop lining for it. The lining is a seperate garment. eShakti carries a wide variety of these suits, and most of them are available in YOUR size. Because they offer a custom-made service rather than selling these outfits ready-to-wear, most of their salwar kameezes, or tunic, pants, and shawl outfits, can be made to fit anyone who wants one, and to fit anyone perfectly. I've been buying salwar kameez outfits (also called "suits" or "dresses" from time to time) from a number of different sellers, both retail and on eBay, all custom-made. These are the most comfortable clothing I've ever owned, and by far the prettiest. I went to a tailor to have him take my measurements — I found a measurement form on one retailer's site, which is quite extensive — and sent all my measurements to eShakti, along with a description of how I wanted my salwar kameezes made. I told them the type of shape I wanted for the tunic, the type of trousers I wanted (not a salwar, which is a kind of puffy pants held up by a drawstring, and is worn by ladies in India and Pakistan). I asked for trousers (not pants, which could mean any of a number of shapes to an Indian or Pakistani seller). I requested a full elastic waist and a slight bootcut flare from the midcalf to the ankle. I requested pockets in both side seams. I told them the length I wanted for my kameezes, the type of sleeve and neckline, and that I wanted them to have a loose fit. Then I had to wait while the clothing was sewn. It really didn't take long, and eShakti got everything right for me except the pockets for the pants, which they missed doing. I'm considering right now which "suits" I'd like to buy from them next. The price range, especially considering that you're buying custom made clothing, which you get to design yourself, is supremely reasonable, and you have GOT to take a look at the clothing. Some I would call very gaudy, and I'd never ever wear a number of the suits, because the salwar fabric doesn't really work with the kameez fabric to Western eyes. Others, though might have been created by the best designers in the world. One more thing: I'm a very large Plus size, and they had no trouble at all in making clothing which fit me perfectly. Try it!
