A bad experience with the website. Others have had this same problem.: When looking for a gift for my son for his birthday, I realized that the item on his list was not available in our local guitar store -so I turned to the internet. I found several online stores that offered the guitar and also next day shipping - which is what I really needed in order to have his gift in time for his birthday.

While I was checking out I noticed that musiciansfriend.com has an online chat facility. I used this service to ask if I placed my order right then, would I get it tomorrow. The agent that responded said "yes".

30 mins. after I placed my order, I called the customer service center. I spoke with a different agent. After checking that the credit card was processed and checking with the warehouse, she indicated that it would go out in the evening shipment.

When I checked my email this morning I had an email that said that the item was shipped this morning via ups. I am so upset by this. I spent over $500 and paid $38 for next day delivery so that my son would have his gift at his party on Sunday. By shipping the item ups, I will now be getting the item on Monday instead of Friday. I called to ask if there was anyway that musiciansfriend.com could see if the ups order would arrive today (Friday) and they said it would not. I cannot express how sad and frustrated this has made me. If I would have know this wouldn't be here by his birthday, I would have chosen a different company to do business with.

They have refunded my shipping. I told them on the phone that it didn't feel like enough for me because now I have nothing to give my son on his birthday and since the item shipped this morning, I cannot cancel it. With over $500 already tied up in this, I can't go out and buy a replacement. They offered to give me a $30 store credit, but why would I want to do business with a company that has lied and mislead me?

I have asked them to update their website with the correct shipping process outlined for customers and also asked for a refund instead of a store credit. I have yet to receive any word back. After researching online, I have found others who have had these problems too.
