SHOP ANYWHERE BUT UNICA HOME!: SHOP ANYWHERE OTHER THAN UNICA HOME!

Another person with another horrible experience. I was also treated so rudely by Bonnie, the "WIFE". I placed a special order for some Carl Mertens items from UnicaHome and also from www.designstore.com I ordered them from both places hoping that one store would get it here sooner than the other. Well, timing didn't make much difference, but SERVICE SURE DID. UnicaHome required a 50% non-refundable prepayment. DesignStore did not. I first received a box from Unica Home with all of the items wrapped in bubble wrap. They were NOT in the Carl Mertens box. Then, I received the second half of the order and commented to my colleague - oh, look how nice the box is! (my first time to see a Carl Mertens box). A day later, the DesignStore shipment arrived - everything boxed in the classic Carl Merten black box...I decided to return part of the UnicaHome shipment - not because of the boxing but I decided that I wanted 10 of one item and none of the other 2 items (UnicaHome lost THAT Sale). When received, Bonnie called me and said that she could not accept the return because it was not in the original boxes. I told her that there WERE NO original boxes with those 2 items. She said that this was impossible. I challenged her and she finally decided to call her vendor. She left me a curt message stating that she was returning the purchase to me because the vendor AND her warehouse manager stated that they would NEVER ship these items without the boxes. Well, guess what? They did. She unwisely chose to ignore the old adage that "the customer is always right." Instead, she implied that I was a liar. I couldn't prove otherwise other than my one witness who saw me open the box. BONNIE WAS RUDE, EXTREMELY RUDE. So, go to the DesignStore for Carl Mertens items --- or to AMEICO --- anywhere but this place. Fortunately, since I am a retailer of gourmet food items, I was able to contact AMEICO (the importer) and purchase the items I needed at half of the UnicaHome price. BONNIE LOST A $1500 sale by being so rude on the $150 sale. SHOP ANYWHERE BUT UNICA HOME!
